Can someone tell me if there is a workaround to discover the Midtronics Cellguard battery monitoring system into DCE ?
As today, this battery monitoring system supports only the SNMP v2, and trying to discover with SNMP v1 and V3 gives no result.
Thanks.

Hi Francois,
We do not support the discovery of 3rd party SNMPv2 devices (FA226273). This device according to the manual supports the Modbus protocol (Modbus RS-485 and optional Modbus TCP/IP). DCE supports Modbus TCP/IP as one of the discovery protocols. You would need to send an email to multivendorsupport@apc.com to get a DDF created to import it into DCE as it is a 3rd party device. DCE uses this DDF to define the monitoring parameters for this device.
Regards,
Breda

Hi Breda, do you have list of 3rd Party Battery Monitoring System that your multivendor support have already used in DCE? Have you faced any issue during the integration despite the DDF import into DCE? Thanks!

Hi Eimer, Unfortunately I don't have a list of 3rd party BMS's that we have created DDF's for. Once the DDF has been created based on all the information on the device sent to multivendorsupport (SNMPwalk, MIB, register map etc), there should be no problem importing the DDF into DCE. I only have seen problems integrating the DDF when the DDF has been modified or created by someone other than multivendorsupport.
