DDF problems with Eaton 5px

Seems the DDF is not picking up a Device Alarm for the unit when a fan dies.  Did a test and SNMPWALKed before and after and here are the OIDs that were different:

1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.6.2.1.2.2    , ObjectID    , 1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.6.3.18

1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.6.2.1.2.3    , ObjectID    , 1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.6.3.16

1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.6.2.1.3.2    , TimeTicks   , 47458

1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.6.2.1.3.3    , TimeTicks   , 47468

1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.2.1.1.1   , Integer     , 1

1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.2.1.1.2   , Integer     , 2

1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.2.1.2.1   , ObjectID    , 1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.8

1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.2.1.2.2   , ObjectID    , 1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.33

1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.2.1.3.1   , TimeTicks   , 47458

1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.7.2.1.3.2   , TimeTicks   , 47468

Looked them up and they are related to a Fan Fault in the UPS which the UPS itself alarmed on but in Struxureware Data Center Expert it did not.  Current files versions of DDFs I have installed for Eaton and UPS are:

Eaton Powerware UPS            10

UPS MIB                                       8

Any help with this well be appreciated.

Thanks

Toby

Hi Toby Bouzane,

On DEVICE SUPPORT, I did not find your UPS in the list of supported devices. Therefore, it is very likely that you need to apply first of all to the developers of your DDF-file for Eaton Powerware UPS for explanations. If this is impossible for any reason, then follow the instructions from  - this should help you.

With best regards.

P.S.: at the moment, the current version of the DDF-file upsmib.xml is v.10 from DCE-7.4.3.

The Eaton UPS DDF is installed I already asked for that a while ago.  I looked there as well and noticed it was not in list but figured it was an oversight.  Still running DCE 7.3.1 but looking at upgrading to latest release.  Thanks

Toby

Updated to DCE 7.4.3 and still failed fan in UPS does not generate an alarm in DCE.

Hi Toby Bouzane,

As I suggested earlier, and wrote, without modifying your Eaton UPS DDF-file can not do. Of course, this is only true if the "failed fan" event is registered in any SNMP OID (meaning not SNMP Trap) of this UPS.

By the way, on the "Device Alarm Configurations" tab in DCE-client for your Eaton UPS any preconfigured alarms (pulled from your Eaton UPS DDF file) are displayed?

With best regards.
