Hello
Based on the barcode as an unique equipement identifier I would like to update some attributes of existing equipements in DCO with data from our external CMDB.
I know we can set/update/remove some Custom Properties with the web services CustomPropertiesWebService-v2 but is it possible to update the Name and the Serial Number fields with web services or ETL?
Best Regards,
Yannick

Hi Yannick, yes you can use the ETL - Extract Transform Load framework to import fields such as name, serial number, make, model, IP Address, barcode, tags, any custom properties etc. Please see ETL Import database configuration_item and related tables for more details and get in touch with your sales team to get professional services engaged if needed.

Hello All, While it is possible to export these things I understand there are restrictions (last I checked) on what can be updated/changed. Identity/Name is one of the things that cant be changed via ETL or API and I also believe the Serial Number is another. If this has changed then please let me know as my local support is saying it cant be done.

Hi Craig, asset properties can not be changed using ETL. Properties can be imported from an external system and be seen and used on associated DCO asset.
