DCO Reports

Hi All,

When i try to export capacity history report from AP8853 or AP8886 rack PDU on DCO Reports menu, there is an error message "no available data" (kw). Can you say any suggestion for this situation?

Regards

Kerem

Hi Kerem, Could you please add a screen capture illustrating how your "Capacity History" report is defined - additional to the error message I'm mostly interested in seeing the selected "Equipment" and "Data type", thanks. By the way, please notice that might be a simple notification (and not error message), just simply notifying there are no available data to be reported (foe example if the selected "Date Range" dose not contain any data). Kind regards

Hi Kerem,

Many thanks for sharing the screen shot - it seems you are trying to generate the report at room level, which contains no available data (displayed as a notification).  The expected report for your selected data type:

Measured failover load

Measured peak load

would have been at UPS level

Description of the capacity history data (including the data equipment level) is available here:
Capacity history KPI description

Kind regards

Hi Jef Faridi, Thank you for answer. I tried that way but i can not succeeded. Although Ups has a SNMP IP and measurement values, it does not any capacity report value as you can see attached image. Regads Kerem

Hi Kerem, Your screen shot is illustrating the report for the "Last day", I was wondering what would be the out come if you generate the report for a different Date Range, for example the last two weeks or so. By the way, if you export the report to PDF, and then open the pdf file, would you see any thing differently? However, to provide you more clear answer I would need to study your setup and server logs. If possible, please share the following files with me: 1. a copy of the latest backup file, 2. server logs (hint: http://dcimsupport.apc.com/questions/104863342/how-to-download-log-files) I will shortly send you an invite to my =S= box, just in case if you would share the files with me. Kind regards

Hi Kerem, Many thanks for providing the files - I believe I have now the explanation for why you are not able to generate your reports. According to the server logs, your DCO have been running with incorrect date (apparently almost few weeks after its initial setup). Here is an example from yesterdays log: 2016-03-01 03:54:00.296280+02:00 [warning] 1564 Operations::OperationsMonitor::start Monitor got error while doing work: /data/monitoring/monitorStats.rrd: illegal attempt to update using time 1456797240 when last update time is 1481269819 (minimum one second step) at /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.1/Operations/PerformanceMonitor.pm line 431 2016-03-01 03:54:05.990261+02:00 [warning] 1564 Operations::OperationsMonitor::start Monitor got error while doing work: /data/monitoring/monitorStats.rrd: illegal attempt to update using time 1456797245 when last update time is 1481269819 (minimum one second step) at /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.1/Operations/PerformanceMonitor.pm line 431 The "illegal attempt to update using time..." is an indication that the measurements KPI's cannot be saved, and therefore there is no available data to be reported. Going forward, I would suggest to correct the server time & date, and if possible I would also suggest using an NTP server to synchronize the time between DCO and the external system(s) (such as DCE), more info available here: http://dcimsupport.apc.com/display/UAOp74/The+Importance+of+System+Time+Synchronization+for+Accurate... Kind regards

Hi Kerem, You are welcome - the error message says "no server suitable for synchronization found", that's an indication of the ntp server being unreachable from your DCO. Perhaps something (like firewall) is blocking the communication between your DCO and ntp server. To verify if your ntp server is reachable, try the following command from your DCO server: ntpdate -q 'your-ntp-server' if that returns 'no server suitable for synchronization found', then it is not reachable and you might want to contact your local network administrator for advise. Kind regards

Hello Jef, Another NTP server is integrated successfuly, but anythings do not change for reporting i mean it is still ups report time is incorrect. If you want i can share the logs with you. By the way DCO and DCE are not sync healtly because of this reason. Many thanks Kerem

Hi Kerem, If the time/date is corrected on the DCO server, then the server needs some time (at least few days) to collect data and save the KPI's (otherwise there would be no available data to be reported). Kind regards

Hi Jef, Thank you for all helps. I synced ntp server and i will wait a few days. Webmin time is correct and DCE time is also correct so there is no differencies two software, but it is still wrong alarm value and wrong measured values. Thats actually big problem for me. Should i wait for a few days or i can send you logs. Regards Kerem

Hi Kerem, I'm glad to hear that your have resolved the time/date issue - that was really great because as you might have noticed the DCO server date was one month a head of the actual/real time (it was March instead of being February). If you have issues with alarms and the measurements, then you should not wait. But it is not clear to me what you mean by "wrong alarm value" and "wrong measured values" - would it be possible for you to add more description and screen captures illustrating the issue. Perhaps post it as a new question, in that way each case/question would contain well defined issue (eg. one issue per question). Kind regards
