The equipment browser is a very powerful tool in DCO. In this example, we will use the equipment browser to create a "list of all our servers". *)
Here is the rack we will use as an example. It contains various types of equipment.
- In the equipment browser, begin by selecting the Equipment type column.
- Servers are of type Generic Rack-mount Equipment. Type this into the search field:
This will list all the servers - but what about the blades? - Blades are of type Blade. Add this OR Blade entry:
Now we get both the blades and their enclosures. What if we would like to see the blades - but not the enclosures? - Modify the search field to exclude the enclosures (which are of type Blade Enclosure) by adding a NOT statement:
- From here it is easy to export the results to a .csv file for import into our report tool of choice.
