DCO 8.3 - Using tagging for device categorization

I use the TAG feature in DCO to categorize rack mount equipment for instance:

• network
• storage
• compute

Accordingly to it I created these tags and I would like setup that tagging would be a mandatory task during a new equipment installation.

As I know it is feasible with "Custom Properties" feature. What about tagging?

Hi Mate,

Tags can only be defined after adding the device, so there is no option to make it mandatory task during a new equipment installation. User(s) should define that after adding the device.

I'm thinking on a Mandatory check box what we have in Custom Properties configuration:

How that works? If a user install any new rack mount device the mandatory checked custom property has to fill out or not?

User(s) can define Custom properties any time they want to do it. If users want to model a device that may contain pre-defined Custom properties settings (such as Mandatory), users are not prevented from leaving the filed empty. The system will display a recommendation to enter data, for example some thing like this:
