Hi,
I have just created a new VM Server using the DCO 8.2.7 ISO file.
I have imported my data from the OLD 8.2.2 server successfully.
But when I tried to download the client from the WEB interface a new tab
was open.
No 64 bit exe file was downloaded.
Any idea?

Hi Amit,
Did you manage to download the desktop client installer, you've mentioned that "when I tried to download the client from the WEB interface a new tab was open. No 64 bit exe file was downloaded." If you are not prompted to define where you want to save the file, then it might be downloading and saving to your default Downloads folder. However browser may notify when it is downloaded. For example, at the bottom of Chrome we can see the file is being downloaded:
"Show all"/Show in folder may take you to the downloads location and the installation file.
Kind regards

Hi Amit,
Desktop client not included with ISO
The desktop client is now hosted and is no longer included with the ISO. There is no longer a strict version number match between the server and client.
You do not always need to update desktop clients when you update your Data Center Operation server. If a client update is required, a message will appear when you start the client for the first time after updating your server. There is also an option to download the desktop client in your profile in the web client.

Jeff hi,
I didn’t succeed to download the exe file from the sedownloads.azureedg.net
My client net isn’t connected to the internet and connecting manually gave nothing.
I made a contact to my local support and they’ll send the file.
Then I will import it to my client net.
Then I will send it to several sites for installation.
Saying that I find this very clunky.
The appropriate Client delivered with the server is much useful.
Just keep it simple.
Thanks,

I fully agree with Amit, this sounds very clunky. We have servers on closed network without any access to internet. Of course we can download client installation package and deliver this to other users. I think that there must be an option use DCO server for delivery machine as this has been used before. Can we store client package somewhere on DCO and use old method for delivery, please help define how this can be done!!
Thanks

I have the same issue. I am also concerned with the client user not having permission to "install" anything. Previously the client was included in the ISO, I could pull it out, get the proper IT permissions to test and approve the client and then use Microsoft System Center to have the end user download and install it.
Having the "prompt" to the client to download and install the new version of the client when necessary is NOT an option.
If a new client is needed for an upgrade version, please include it when we download the server update iso. It doesn't need to be included IN the iso but it should be available for us to download.

Hi Hannu & John,
The desktop client will be available to be downloaded from the hosted location (may require Internet access). For the environment without internet access, it might make sense to provide the installation file(s) (to DCO users) via a local shared network drive (and not the DCO server itself to avoid unnecessary access to the server).
Kind regards
