I have performed a test of importing a device into a room with connections to the PDU's in the rack.
The device imports successfully and shows that it connected to both PDU's in the rack as well as which phase they are connected to. However it does display a recommendation message that the device has more connections than power inlets.
If I adjust the power inlets for the device to the value of "2" then there is no message as the connections match the inlets.
If I adjust the power inlets for the genome item for the device to the value of "2" . Then re-import the device which picks up the changes in the genome and overwrites the existing device, there is no message as the connections match the inlets.
My issue is that as we now have a custom genome library that contains many devices that have zero power inlets.
Q1 - For the one site that we will be required to map the power path, should I now have to go through all of the items in the custom genome and adjust the amount of inlets to "2"? ("2" would cover both single and dual corded device possibilities).
Q2 - For genome items that are added from the global catalog automatically as part of the import process, would I then have to adjust the inlets in these items then re-import the devices to pick up the changes?
It would have been a nice feature if when adding power connections to a device in the import spreadsheet, that has zero inlets in the genome by default, that it would automatically add the amount to the device...

Hi Jim,
As you've find out some or perhaps all servers would be basically with 0 power inlets when added from the Genome Library. At least one power inlet would have been expected as a minimum setting - this requirement has been recently logged as an enhancement request (for a future version).
In my mind, I think it would make sense to say Yes to both questions, and I think it is a usual practice to add assets/devices from the Genome Library to own Genomes > configure the added devices > and then they can be used/modeled.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards
