Hi we have a customer whop has recently migrated from running DCE successfully on ESXi5 to ESXi6.5. Since the migration the DCE server intermittently hangs and has to be restarted 'manually'.
The migration process was as follows:
This all appears to have worked but the freezes continue.
Any advice on how to prevent the freezes please?
Regards

More information - possibly a direction to look?
https://access.redhat.com/articles/65431
Given that CentOS 6 is based upon RHEL 6, and DCE is built ipon CentOS 6? the table i the link above suggest that CentOS 6 is not compatible with AMD EPYC processors?
This seems to be related to running RHEL on the physical hardware not on the Virtual Hardware.
Can you confirm if DCE can run on EPYC processors on Hypervisor: ESXi 6.5u2?
If not any workaround known?

Hi Garry,
Unfortunately, not yet. We haven't been able to pinpoint the exact cause.
We were suspecting a storage issue initially, but it might be a compatibility issue now. We've asked the customer to deploy another DCE VM, without adding any devices to it, and leave that running for a while to check if the same thing happens with that. Awaiting feedback from them soon.
Regards
