Hello @masolans,

Usually if you are at a GRUB prompt on reboot, the system has completely crashed and a backup/restore is the quickest method of recovery.  You can contact support if you would like to try to investigate the system and determine what happened, which may or may not be possible depending on the failure.

Below are steps that you can take to restore your system if you have a valid backup:

  1. Ensure that there are no hardware errors on the server itself.
  2. Download the ISO image for the same DCE version that the backup was created on.  This can be downloaded from the EcoStruxure IT Entitlements Portal.  If you do not have access, please reach out to technical support for contract verification and access to be provided.
  3. Build the ISO image onto a USB using the dedicated utility found on the Help Center or download page.
  4. Restore the server using the USB key.
  5. Go through the base setup again of passwords and network settings using the console: https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA234266/
  6. Restore a backup to the appliance.

Kind Regards,

Cory
