Hi, I have one DCE server that is getting the logs files filled with errors similar to the following.
Error executing bot job: /capture/nbFileSet_17448_10_03890000/fileALL.jpg<br/>{2} java.lang.NullPointerException<br/> at <a href="http://com.netbotz.net" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">com.netbotz.net</a>.url.MultiPartHandler.getPart(MultiPartHandler.java:185)<br/> at com.netbotz.server.services.alert.impl.AlertServiceImpl.botJobEvent(AlertServiceImpl.java:1060)<br/> at com.netbotz.server.services.botservice.BotService.fireBotJobEvent(BotService.java:492)<br/> at com.netbotz.server.services.botservice.BotService.botJobComplete(BotService.java:1063)<br/> at com.netbotz.server.services.botservice.BotService$$FastClassByCGLIB$$175829fe.invoke(<generated>)<br/> at net.sf.cglib.proxy.MethodProxy.invoke(MethodProxy.java:191)<br/> at org.springframework.aop.framework.Cglib2AopProxy$DynamicAdvisedInterceptor.intercept(Cglib2AopProxy.java:617)<br/> at com.netbotz.server.services.botservice.BotService$$EnhancerByCGLIB$$6645e90d.botJobComplete(<generated>)<br/> at com.netbotz.server.services.botservice.BotJob.run(BotJob.java:480)<br/> at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(Unknown Source)<br/> at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(Unknown Source)<br/> at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)<br/>
am guessing that one of the attached devices may be sending back incorrect data, that cannot be understood by DCE.
Any advice on how to trace down which device it is? Or even what type of device. i.e. is it a "real" Netbotz device such as the 400 or 500, or could it be any type of device?
Thanks in advance

Hi Garry,
i have nothing specific for the message but usually if there is a specific NetBotz appliance that it's having an issue with, part or all of the MAC address of the appliance is often part of the message. I am not seeing that here.
Are you having any specific issues with this DCE or the botz? If so, what is happening? I don't usually like to look at logs and assume an issue if nothing is actually happening or failing to happen.
I do see a jpg mentioned and alerting so I'd maybe make sure that alerts that should have images, do have them. Perhaps rebooting the system can clear up any issues with the system such as a process or piece of data that is somehow stuck. That's about all I can say by looking at this one message.
Steve.
