DCE 7.4.3 Firmware Push Updates "Firmware Update Failed, Unable to Log on"
Recent, after upgrading to Data Centre Expert 7.4.3, we tried to push out the firmware updates to our fleet of PDU's and ATS's. This alerted our organisation to the issue of Firmware Update Failed, Unable to Log on" error.
After checking all the settings, it finally occurred that DCE is failing to authenticate and log on to the device via FTP. This wasn't an issue for the Launch to device Settings, but rather the "SNMP Device Transfer Settings"
Our work around to fix the issue is:-
For some reason, this occurs when you have specific custom passwords rather than the default APC username and password that DCE default to using until you carry out the above.

Hi Matthew,
That is the designed behavior. During discovery you are provided the opportunity to add these user names and passwords and if you change them at a later date, you can go in and update the access where you noted. Additionally, this is different than the device login credentials as you may want to provide only read only access to the device's web interface.
