Create a virtual device for opening device webpage

Hi,

I would like to know in DCE v7.3.1, is that possible to create an icon/button just for opening a webpage of a 3rd party device or a website.

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

It is not possible to create such a button. If the device has been discovered by DCE, you should be able to double click that device and it should launch http or https to that device. If the device is on the private LAN of DCE, it can't launch properly if an active-X control or similar needs to launch.

Thanks Steve, I have noticed the Pelco Cameras has a standard weblink (http://ip address/liveview/viewer?lv-winid=ABLVTV6-2&lv_wincnt=4#) for the camera view and our SBO can bind those weblinks. I just thinking whether DCE can do the same (wink) Anyway, we only have NetBotz Rack Monitor 450 in the demo rack, if I remembered correctly, the minimum requirements for the Pelco-DCE integration is NetBotz 455. It seems that I have to get another NetBotz...... James

Hi James! If your camera is supported, you can use it with Netbotz 450 appliance as well as with 455. You should set it up in "Rack Access & Pod sharing" section of Advanced View. Then you will see it at AV Camera View tab and DCE's surveillance tab.

Hi, Valentin, I have tested some Pelco Sarix IM10C10 cameras on NetBotz 450 and NetBotz 550. In Netbotz 450, the camera pod is not shareable, but in Netbotz 550, it can be shared and integrated. Could you please help to double check? Thanks, James

James you are right. IP camera can't be connected to Netbotz 450, it's support only USB cameras. It's my fault.
