Message from product management regarding CentOS 8 end of life:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) recently announced significant changes to the CentOS development roadmap, including the accelerated end-of-life for CentOS 8.
These changes affect Schneider Electric’s Data Center Expert, Data Center Operation, and EcoStruxure IT Advisor. No further operating system updates will be available for CentOS 8 after December 31, 2021.
We are listening closely to the CentOS community and collaborating with customers to determine the best options for migrating to a next-generation operating system for Data Center Expert, Data Center Operation, and EcoStruxure IT Advisor.
We remain committed to supporting customers on these software products. Once we determine the next generation operating system for Data Center Expert, Data Center Operation and EcoStruxure IT Advisor, we will provide updates in this forum and in the EcoStruxure IT Help Center.
If you have any questions, please submit a ticket or reach out to your Schneider Electric sales representative or account manager.

like in any acquisition someone must die....in this case IBM buy Redhat and decide to kill smart son of Redhat, CentOS
they cut the end of support period for CentOS 8 from 2029 to 2021.....and CentOS 9 will be released.....we do not know when 🙄
CentOS 7 end support is 2024(if will no be changed soon also)
also CensOS is not like a "downstream" version of Redhat anymore.......worse.... is like an "upstream"
so from a OS based and developed on a Redhat release, now will be a test version for upcoming version of Redhat
literally speaking I don`t believe someone want to use something like an beta OS for his production environment...
in this case the only alternative for SE is a switch to another distribution......since you do not have access to root user(theoretically) of DCE, migration can be done by reinstalling the operating system.........I`m preparing for couple of my customers with a lot of GB logs 😎
