Ceiling Issue

This question was originally posted on DCIM Support by adelaney on 2016-11-15

Our data center has a drop ceiling, 10 feet to that and then a 4 foot plenum above it. DCO is only allowing us to set our drop ceiling height at 78.74 inches and keeps resetting to that number regardless of what we put in above it. Anyone else running into this issue? Or know a way around it?

Hi adelaney

If you set the ceiling height to 120 inches and the drop ceiling height to 48 inches you should get what you need. The Ceiling height is the distance from the floor to the drop ceiling.

Take a look at the screenshot below. The limit on 78.74 inches is a limit we put into the cooling model (equal to two meters) in order to limit the amount of calculations we need to do. If you have a higher ceiling plenum than 78.74 inches you select the "The space above the drop ceiling extends beyond the boundaries of the room" check box.

Hope this helps.

That makes much more sense than how I was trying to configure it (with ceiling height being the full ceiling of 168" and the drop ceiling being at 120" from the floor). Thanks for the help!
