We have two DCE servers, each connected to a difference firewall at different location. Both DCE servers are configured with same IP address 192.168.20.20 for LAN1. Each server is mapped to different IP address by the firewall, for example, one is mapped to 10.129.155.13 and another is mapped to 10.32.155.13.
Is their any potential problem with both servers using the same local IP address?

Hi Yang,
Unsupported. the servers themselves may not have an issue but the devices may. Network address translation is not a tested configuration. Any potential issues could be magnified if devices are reporting to both DCE servers.
DCE will also set itself as an IP in a hidden trap receiver field. It will set the 192.168.20.20 IP address as that is the only IP it is aware of. In this way, the devices will not send traps to 10.129.155.13 or 10.32.155.13. Additionally, NetBotz posts can be sent to hostname or IP but usually work better with IP and again, the server will set a post address of 192.168.20.20 and not 10.129.155.13 or 10.32.155.13.

The reason I asked this question is that both servers had data corruption recently (postgresql-9.5 failed to start during reboot and I had to restore the server with iso USB) and I wonder if the duplicated IP address has anything to do with it or the corruption is caused by something else.

Hi Yang,
I couldn't say if this would cause corruption, I can see where it could cause comm issues. Again, it's not been tested in such an environment so I can't say with any certainty what may happen.
