Hello,
You can not stop the polling all together on a monitored device but you can put devices into maintenance mode. When in this state, DCE won't alarm for these devices. Additionally, you can increase the polling cycles for individual devices or a group of devices so that they're polled only once an hour instead of whatever you had set as default which may be as low as every minute.
The only way to make sure DCE does not attempt polling at even this low rate would be to remove the device. This of course will result in the loss of previously collected data.
