Any workaround ideas for multiple powered equipment placement on 4U?

Are there any practical idea how you place Modem, DSU, Media Converter within 4U space of rack.

Those device can be placed up to 10 or more.

I tried to think about using Blade Chassis Enclosure (to imitate tray) and Blade (to imitate Modem, DSU,  Media Converter, and so on), but the power connection from Blade Enclosure is only one and need to sum up all the placed device power each time.  If you have any better idea or practical way to support these kind of situation please share with us.

cheers,

Yoshi

Hi Yoshi,

The actual products are not in the Genome library?

As I read your question it seems like there are 3 devices. I would go ahead and create 3 devices with the right name and power information based on copies of the generic server. The physical dimensions I would set to fit the devices you are trying to model. So if 4U make 2x1U and 1x2U. Then add those to the rack giving them individual power connections.

If this is not clear please share some more information of the actual devices.

Hi Soren,

Thank for  the reply.

I attached the one of my work around idea.   Devices will be placed on the tray more than 5 or 10, and 1 device occupies 1U or more space.  so I need the way to show multiple devices in the particular U space.

Could I ask you to make this a comment to the answer instead? I would do as you have suggested. The number of bays can be specified in the Genomes properties and thereby allowing several (5-10) "devices" in 4U space. Do you have any spec on the devices trying to model?
