We have just revived a AP4423 and have configured it on the network and in DCE. We have set the host name to what we want and the host name appears correct in both the web page and in a console session. Have restarted the device several times and requested a device scan in DCE, host name appears as apc01ea52.domain name
Override Manual DNS Settings: enabled
Primary DNS Server: 10.150.12.17
Secondary DNS Server: 10.150.24.27
Domain Name: domain name
Domain Name IPv6: example.com
System Name Sync: Enabled
Host Name: dc1-rd02-ats01

Dear Andrew Stoakes,
I assume, that in the network settings of your DCE-server also configured similar Primary/Secondary DNS Servers? Can you verify this and confirm it?
Please, check the correctness resolving of the above mentioned rack ATS via special DCE-server web-page by address http://_DCE_Address_/nbc/status/Troubleshoot .
With respect.

You need to make sure your dns server has the correct dns record and can do forward and reverse look ups.
On windows you should be able to ping the hostname or use the nslookup command.
If the dns record is correct, it can take up to 24 hrs for DCE to update the hostname in device view.
