Hello,
A colleague of mine inquired about how he would go about modeling the ACF002 Rack Air Distribution Unit. If we encounter this unit in the field would a work around be to just place a tile under the rack with the airflow rating of the device? Will the software accept floor tiles pushing air under a rack and into the cabinet or would the tiles need to be placed in front of the cabinet?

Hi Brian,
As you know, when it comes to cooling simulation (in DCO) modeling simple racks (without cooling devices/rack air distribution units) are supported. As you've mentioned using perforated floor tiles might improve the cooling simulation (and should not be placed under a rack) and probably may not represent the real setup. I think if the cooling/temperature simulation should be very important to you/customer, then I would suggest using some temperature sensors and running the 3D temperature map on "Measured plane". That may give you a more realistic temperature plan of the data center.
