At times we have associated an IP address with the wrong device. In the past I remember there being a "unassociated device" option when you right clicked. Now the only way I have figured it out is to delete the device then reinstall.

Hello Shawn.
Make sure your in planning->device association mode. Then if you right click on the asset and select "show in navigation" you can then right click on the item(s) in the navigation view/pane and un-associate the external device.
