Request for Technical Clarification on Battery Warning and Runtime Issues – APC Smart-UPS VT 20kVA
Hi team
Please help
I am writing to request your assistance regarding two issues with my APC Smart-UPS VT 20 kVA.
1. Battery degradation warning My UPS does not provide any early warning or notification when the batteries start to deteriorate and require replacement. The system only displays an alarm when the batteries are completely failed. This behavior is different from other Smart-UPS models, which typically notify the user when the battery health begins to decline. Could you please explain why the VT 20 kVA does not provide degradation warnings, and whether this is expected behavior for this model?
2. Actual runtime vs. displayed runtime The UPS reports an estimated runtime of approximately 2 hours in the event of a mains power failure. However, during actual operation, the system only sustains the load for slightly more than 10 minutes before out of battery Could you clarify why the indicated runtime is significantly different from the real performance? Additionally, please advise if this issue is related to battery condition, calibration, load measurement, or another technical factor.
I would appreciate your guidance on how to diagnose and resolve these issues. Thank you very much for your support.
