PDU Report in DCE

Do we have to do a reset every month on a PDU to get an accurate reading for the kWh.

Hello @MBender,

DCE reports kWh sensors directly from an SNMP reading from the PDU itself.  kWH sensors are a continually increasing sensor until they are manually reset.  You may be able to run a report in DCE and look at the Delta Value, which would be the difference between the lowest and highest readings during that time-frame.  The lowest should be at the beginning of the time-frame and the highest at the end of the time-frame.  This would give you the kWH reading over the course of the selected time-frame only.

@MBender I run a kWh report every month for all our clients. I setup a virtual kWh sensor for each client, then at the start of every month run a report on those virtual sensors for last month at 2 hour intervals cutting down the columns to "Sensor, time, units and last known value". I export it as a csv and use Excel to extract the 1st and last values for each client to give a monthly kWh value for each.

Hey Cory, thanks for the information. Sound like we would have to do a reset on the PDU's first to get more of a better reading as it still shows the increase kWh.
