DCE Can i forward traps to another system BUT specify what is forwarded

Hello all,

In short i have a request from a client with regards to DCE . I have set this up to generate the required traps and forward these to another NMS system. At present i do not know what this NMS system is running.

My question is will it be possible for me to only forward the status level (Warning, error, failure, critical etc) to this other system AND NOTHING ELSE - or is this something that he will need to filter out at his end - he wants this but no other information.

Basically that is all he wants to see on the receiving system and not any other text for example, device name, IP address, reason for the alert etc. I know to many that may seem strange but that is essentially how they want things setup. So can this be done and is it something he will need to filter out or can this be done from the DCE end.

I already have it set to just forward events that are warning / critical / failure / error.

Hi @PSB101 ,

DCE doesn't actually forward traps. If DCE alerts for a device, there are 2 ways for it to send traps. This FAQ should be helpful in showing what to expect:
