Can Portal be upgraded manually?

Hi, I was working on some Plugins that I wanted to add to Portal but they won't install as the version of Portal we are running is Liferay Portal Community Edition 6.1.1 CE GA2 and the latest version is 6.2. Any idea if I can manually upgrade it to 6.2 through some means or are we going to release a new version 6.2 for it soon ..to support more advance portlets for it?

Hi Vineet,

I know it is not possible to upgrade manually to version 6.2. There are changes in the Liferay platform that are not supported in the Schneider portlets, configuration and theme which will therefore not function. 

I'm not aware of any plans to release an upgraded Portal with a newer Liferay version in the near future.
