Reading OPC Tag quality
Hi,
I have small GeoSCADA app communicating with devices using RSLinX OPC Server. OPC server runs on the same machine.
Everything works fine, I have advanced OPC Client configured within GeoSCADA, few OPC groups created, etc.
I have following occurrence:
When OPC server loses it's connection with remote devices it should declare OPC tags' quality bad.
But it does not happen in my case. For example, if I read analog value from OPC server which corelates with remote device measurement and I break connection between OPC server and remote device there is no change of value in GeoSCADA advanced OPC Analog value tag. View status still reports good quality with last known value...It is also confusing in trends since when communication breaks there is straight line that says nothing is wrong and there should be break or something that shows bad quality of the measurement.
I connected some other OPC clients and all of them report bad value of the tag as soon as OPC server declares it.
I went through OPC Client settings, group and tag settings, and I am sure I'm missing something.
If asynchronous then its up to the OPC DA server (RSLinx) to push the change of quality to Geo SCADA when it occurs. Does RSLinx do this with a quality only change?
If synchronous then the quality won't update until the next scheduled poll of either the group or individual point.
What happens if you manually refresh either the group or individual point using the Refresh pick action.
