Hi everyone, this is a topic that has been raised before, but the posts are a few years old so I am raising it again to see if anyone has implemented this recently or has experience to share on solutions that is helpful for others - especially in relation to performance and maintenance of offline maps. I am looking at options to implement offline maps for a customer using a WMS maps server that will not have access to the internet. Currently looking at setting up a test environment using QGIS as a maps server and using OpenStreetMaps as maps source but obviously exported and stored as local WMS maps files accessible to the ViewX clients.
Has anyone set offline maps up recently for Geo SCADA, if so do you have any useful information or experience in pros and cons of different options, and on the best practice to configure this to optimise the performance?

Hi.
We have successfully deployed an offline map through ArcGIS Enterprise deployed onto a separate box.

Thanks! We ended up deploying a QGIS server solution and using the QGIS desktop app to export OpenStreetMaps in MBTiles format which seems to work well so far.
