Hi everyone,
I’m suddenly getting the following high‐severity error in ViewX:
Connection state – Failed (Error creating instance of OPC DA server – The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and password.)
It was working fine two weeks ago and hasn’t been touched since—no changes to the username or password. Now the server won’t connect, and points are not updating.
Has anyone else run into this or have any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Looks like you are connecting to an OPC Server. If this is DCOM then there are many reasons why it won't work, related to security settings on the server and client PCs. If using COM then the user/password is for OPC Private Security on the server side.
The OPC Driver log may give a little more information which could help you.

This error message indicates Microsoft COM was unable to create the COM object for the OPC DA server (specifically the call to CoCreateInstanceEx failed). It is failing with error CO_E_RUNAS_LOGON_FAILURE.
You should contact the vendor of the OPC DA server and seek their advice on why their COM object cannot be created.
This is not an OPC DA private security issue.
