Hi guys
Is there any way other than via Areas of interest that the alarm banner can be adjusted to hide particular alarms on the banner.
I'm only familiar with the Areas of Interest method

Each user can have their own default alarm banner filter set, check their properties on the object.
The filter is based around all the alarm filtering options.
Most common usage I've seen is operators being filtered to by default see a certain range (e.g. Medium to Critical) yet engineering can see all (Low to Critical). This provides the operator the ability to see all alarms if needed but by default removing 'noise'.
ClearSCADA has a few options to be compliant with guidelines such as EEMUA 191, ASM 18.2 and other derivatives, really depends what you are trying to achieve.

Noted understood can this be set once user is logged on to the system.
I'm familiar with the filtering but can it be sent in a manner that filters once upon logging on

Yes, the filter you set on the user properties is set as the default alarm banner filter on logon
