Hi all,
I've got a 3rd party report that after an upgrade from GSE2019 May 2020, to GSE2022 Sept 2023, when accessing ViewX through a Remote Desktop session (RemoteApp launched from RDWeb portal) there is an offset between the mouse location, and the click action occuring.
Apparently it's present as long as ViewX isn't made Full Screen. In Full Screen the offset disappears. But revert to non-Full Screen and the offset reappears.
I'm expecting it's some mismatch between the Remote Desktop environment, and the windowing toolkit used within ViewX. But would be keen to know if anyone has seen this, or has any tweaks they know of to potentially resolve it.
We've raised a case with Tech Support, but the more brain powers, the betterer...
Screenshot attached. Mouse was hovering over 'Mains Power Failure' when context menu was brought up, but then it selected 'Site Security', and menu options occur for the 'Site Security' object (i.e. not the one the mouse appeared to be hovering over at the time of click)...
We just have this in the Test/Dev environment currently, but the concern is pushing it to production will result in accidental operator actions.
Thanks,
Bevan

We recommend you contact Microsoft for their support. Note that ViewX is a complex application, so they may need to have access to it to test it themselves.

That's unexpected, I have not come across that behaviour. Any Windows Updates to RA/RDWeb, or have you seen this side-by-side on the two client versions?

Unfortunately all clients were upgraded, so no side-by-side delta available.
However I’m confident the customer has not applied MS Patches between the GSE2019 May 2020 ViewX, and our upgrade to GSE2022 Sept 2023.
I can possibly get one standalone client rolled back, doing the RDWeb is a pain however.
I haven’t yet witnessed the behaviour myself. I’ll have a look into it tomorrow to confirm what has been reported to me.
I was hoping it was known and an easy fix…

Try /forcesoftwarerender as a ViewX switch, it has worked for a few RDP UI weirdnesses.
