EthernetIP with L8 Compactlogix Controller
Has anyone had any luck getting the ethernet ip driver communicating with an Allen Bradley L8 (5069 series) Compactlogix controller?
I haven't seen any mention of the driver not being able to work with the L8 controllers but have found that the driver only appears to work with the L7 (1769 series) Compactlogix controllers. I have a project where I was bench testing with an L7 controller while developing the SCADA but now that it has gone to site where the actual controller is an L8 it is not working.
Support has been unable to give me a final answer at this stage while it's escalated to others but it is looking like I may have to convert the project over to OPC and use Factorytalk Linx if the driver does not support the L8 series.

Have you taken Wireshark captures of the working comms against the L7x controller, and the L8x controller? And what firmware versions are each of these that you've tested with?
We recently had a situation with an L8x controller where it worked under v30.x firmware, but not v33.x firmware, and the issue turned out to be the ephemeral port used on the client end. The v33.x firmware seemed to need the ephemeral port to be a very large number (>54000), whilst prior to that it would work with an ephemeral in the 49xxx range.
You could try to do some NAT to just test that it would work with a larger source port number. Or feed this back to Schneider Tech Support to see if they can do a quick trial for you.
