Hello,
We have a telemetry project in Geo SCADA (ClearSCADA) communicating to SCADAPacks E-Series using DNP3. We use configuration feature of Geo SCADA , so using DNP3 SCADAPack E Direct Outstation object for RTU definitions. I am used to have template for each type of SCADAPack E (one template for 330E, one for 350E, one for ES).
There was a hardware problem on customer’s site and one SCADAPack ES needs to be replaced by SCADAPack 530E. So I have two ways how to manage this change:
The way 2. looks quite daringly for me. Do you think there could be some future consequences? (except spoil of concept)

2) will depend on what fields map between the two and what you're using, I'd suggest testing it on a test server. However rather than changing the outstation type in the instance, consider converting the entire instance to an instance of the 350E template.
It certainly can be done and there are multiple large sites that do it this way, but your templates do need to be set up with it in mind and tested.

Hi JChamberlain,
thank you for your opinion.
I have tested it with no issue. But I was worried about some future problems, that I missed during testing.
So I wanted just ask if somebody has an experience with such step.
