M580HSBY WITH NOC301 AND NIP2311

Hello,

I have this plant that has an M5802040 HSBY equiped with eNOC301 and distributed IO (STBNIP2311)

I have something not right here since I am not reading anything from the STBNIP2311 through the eNOC301 can someone please guide me in the right direction.

Because when i connect to the STBNIP2311 with Advantys the values change, also the ethernet port is flashing as if the STBNIP2311 is talking with the eNOC301, please find attached the network and cards configuration (P.S: I only have the Primary online so far)

Hello The18,

Configuration seems to be ok, but Probably your STBNIP2311 doesn't have the IP address as configured.

You have to set the IP address on the STBNIP to 192.168.3.98. This can be done several ways. Simple way is to define the address server of the M580 NOC module. Set the 2 rotary switches on fromt of the STB module to 98, and tset the Device name of in the STB to STBNIP2311_98.

Then download this in your CPU, set to RUN nd power-up the STB.

Check the flashing of the status lights of the STB NIP after power up and check with a PING command from your PC.

I found the problem, apparently connecting M580 and NOC301 in the same network doesn't work. so i seperated them and now everything runs smoothly.

Please be aware, the BMENOC module has the option to connect to the CPU via the NOC ethernet backplane.  By default, this is disabled.
It is preferred to have different networks for the CPU and the NOC.  I assume the NOC is the one communicating with the Advantys.  If you have the backplane ethernet port is enabled on the NOC, make sure there are no unmanaged ethernet loops i.e. connections that externally connect the CPU and the NOC module.  Please also ensure that there is no IP address clash as the CPU and NOC module may compete for the same connection if using the same subnet.
