Optimize your Maintenance interventions with the Maintenance Index into Asset Advisor

The Maintenance Index indicates if the initially planned date for the next maintenance inspection of an equipment is adapted to asset condition or should be rescheduled to avoid premature aging and/or impending failure leading to undesired downtime. Thanks to this advanced feature, we are in a good position to apply a remarkable longer interval between initially planned dates.

Benefits of the Maintenance Index

By connecting their assets and subscribing to our high-end recurring services, the customer benefits are:

  • Reduce regular maintenance cost thanks to an extension of the regular maintenance periodicity of +2 years compared to standard base-calendar recommendation, meaning deep inspection cadence happens up to 5 years.
  • Make the most of connectivity and associated digital capabilities by continuous remote monitoring, which allows us to be informed if the next maintenance inspection has to be preponed to the new longer schedule.
  • Harness the value of advanced analytics. In case the application detects a reason to advance the next inspection, details on the health of the asset will be computed under called partial maintenance index for each subcomponent, to easy user understanding of initiating cause.
  • For grater peace of mind, an overview of the next maintenance dates for all connected assets within same site allows user to optimize site intervention and schedule maintenance action based on actual equipment conditions with time in advance.

How does it work

  • Each equipment has a model which decomposed into several subcomponents driven by our analytics which computes how the ageing and wearing of each subcomponent would be influenced by specific factors of usage, environmental conditions, and by the list of the actions taken during the previous maintenance inspections by subcomponents, too.
  • Thanks to the continuous measurements of this usage and environmental conditions, we estimate the ageing and the wearing of each subcomponent of the asset, daily.
  • This allows our application to evaluate the Remaining Time to Next inspection of each subcomponent. Moreover, each subcomponent is linked to a partial maintenance index allowing to optimize specific actions on assemblies during the next intervention.
  • The Remaining Time values are combined to consolidate the remaining time to next maintenance at asset level, and to provide a due date for next inspection.
  • Then, Maintenance Index compares the initial date planned and computed date based on condition, showed as a gauge (or progress bar for partial indexes) varying from 1 to 5, meaning:
    • 1: No action needed - The scheduled maintenance date is confirmed.
    • 2: The maintenance plan has to be reviewed with the support of Schneider Electric experts.
    • 3: The maintenance date of the asset has to be scheduled in the next X years.
    • 4: The maintenance date of the asset has to be scheduled in the next Y months
    • 5: Maintenance activity has to be re-scheduled with high priority.
  • All in all, our expert team in remote would guide end user and/or SE field services team about the actions required, mainly to schedule a new date closer to computed date to avoid Remaining Time to Next Maintenance get surpassed. When new date is reported into system, index get back to lower value.

Types of assets that can benefit from the Maintenance Index

  • The Maintenance Index is available for Low Voltage Circuit Breaker, Medium Voltage Circuit Breaker, Oil and Dry transformers, UPS, Cooling units and Drive devices, which are subscribed to ESP Prime or EcoCare +Advanced offers.
  • The Maintenance Index is applicable for Brownfield and Greenfield assets. When a brownfield asset is connected, we run a simulator to estimate its ageing, based on preliminary shared information and projections based on 2 months of data collected.
