Issue
What is the difference between Crompton and Modbus?
Environment
IC3-Modbus
IC-Modbus
Cause
Adding Modbus slave devices to a network that have Crompton devices and the IC Modbus is set to Crompton.
Resolution
The IC Modbus when set to MODbus reads 16bit registers separately. It can add 2 consecutive 16 bit registers together to make a 32 bit word.
The IC Modbus when set to Crompton reads a single 32 bit register. Crompton uses 32 bit registers.
Therefore Modbus and Crompton slave devices cannot be mixed on the same IC Modbus network.
