Using I/NET2000, can a site change a filemaster setting?

Resolution

Not, without difficulty. Setting a pc as a filemaster makes irreversible changes in software. We, in tech support have not found a way to reverse them, short of uninstalling Inet, deleting the root directory, and removing registry entries. Then reload Inet software. See pages 1-12 through 1-14 of TCON 237, Technical Reference Guide for a discussion of filemaster functioning.
