Updating the Loytec NIC driver
Environment
- NIC852
- NIC-USB
Cause
You can run into trouble upgrading the Loytec NIC driver on a PC where there is already an existing TAC Vista installation. If you do the update like this, you should stay clear.
Resolution
- Stop TAC Vista Server, and if it's running as a service, set it to disabled.
- Unplug the NIC-USB or NIC852.
- Uninstall the NIC driver.
- Delete the folder %ProgramFiles%\Loytec\NIC
- Delete the HKLM\SOFTWARE\LOYTEC folder in the registry
- Reboot the PC
- Install the new Loytec driver
- Reboot the PC
- Insert the NIC-USB or NIC852
- Start TAC Vista server
