Issue

Two different new batteries were installed into a DMS-350A. Neither of them has charged to the point of indicating GOOD. The voltage on the battery clips with the battery installed reads 4.5 Vdc. Why doesn't the battery charge?

Cause

Poor connection between the battery and battery holder.

Resolution

Clean the battery holder contacts and bend them for a better connection.
