Using a converter for RS-232 to RS-485
Resolution
RS-232 converters to RS-485 have been reported to work in some cases, we do not support converting RS-232 to RS-485.
There are a lot of different configurations that can be different from vendor to vendor that can cause communications issues. It is suggested to use a commport that can handle the particular protocol that is needed instead of using a converter to change the protocol.
Another option is to use our own Infilink200 or B-Link as an RS-232 to RS-485 converter for use on Comm1 when loaded with an Modbus RTU Xdriver or similar RS-485 protocol.
