Cause
If the kiosk password for AD v3 is lost, there is no recovery option available. The only way to regain access is to perform a factory reset on the device.
Resolution
To reset the AD v3 and set a new password, follow these steps:
- Power Cycle the Device
- Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds until the device powers off.
- Initiate Factory Reset
- Once the device restarts, tap the screen to bring up the reset options.
- Highlight “Factory Reset” until it turns green.
- The device will reboot with factory default settings.
- Reconfigure the Device
- After reboot, select the SmartX HMI Kiosk app.
- Enter your new desired password to complete setup.
