Modify Panel Unit Title in DMS Database Using OPRIF

Issue

A panel unit’s title (description) in a DMS database needs to be updated. How can this be done using OPRIF?

Environment

• DMS Operator Interface (OPRIF)
• All revisions of DMS 35, DMS 350A, and DMS 3500

Cause

Equipment naming has changed, requiring updates to the DMS database to maintain consistency.

Resolution

• Access the Message Text Table in OPRIF.
• Locate the Panel Unit Descriptor Message that needs modification.
• Use the following steps:
  • Cursor down to the descriptor requiring modification.
  • Press the “=” key.
  • Type the new text for the title.
  • Press Enter to save changes.
