DDE won't work when running Vista as a service

Environment

Windows 2008 Server or Windows 7

Vista server communication with a device or application via DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange)

Cause

Applications and services no longer run under the same session in Windows 2008 server or Windows 7.

Resolution

Run Vista as an application.
