Issue
Connecting from a TAC Vista Remote Workstation says "Ensure that TAC Vista Server is started" error, even though DCOM is set correctly
Environment
- Vista Server
- Remote Workstation
- PCs in a network workgroup, not a domain
Cause
Connecting a TAC Vista Remote Workstation to a TAC Vista Server where both PCs are in workgroup rather than a domain.
Resolution
It is important to set the right DCOM permissions AND also remember that the Administrator password has to be the same on both PCs.
