Starting from version 7.0, EcoStruxure Building Operation introduced a Centralized Licensing Model. This model allows license management to be handled centrally via the Device Administrator, streamlining operations across BMS servers.
Resolution
Yes, Engineering Licenses can be returned using Device Administrator. Follow the steps below:
Prerequisites
- Ensure the system is running EcoStruxure Building Operation version 7.0 or later.
- The Top Server must be added to Device Administrator.
Steps to Return an Engineering License
- Open Device Administrator.
- Select the Top Server from the list.
- Locate the Engineering License you wish to return.
- Click Return.
- Choose either:
- Online Method – if the system is connected to the internet.
- Offline Method – if the system is not connected.
Note:
- Only systems running version 7.0 and above support centralized licensing.
- Systems running versions prior to 7.0 use the legacy licensing model and are not compatible with this procedure.
