Upside-Down Installation of Masterpact NW 2000A and 2500A Circuit Breakers
Does anyone have experience or insights on installing Masterpact NW 2000A (NW20) and 2500A (NW25H1, 65kA, 4-pole, fixed) air circuit breakers upside-down in an enclosure? We’re designing a switchboard where these breakers may need to be mounted in this orientation. Our concerns include:
Impact on mechanical components (e.g., grease displacement, main contacts, arc chute).
Compatibility with mechanical interlocks (e.g., rod interlocks).
Enclosure requirements (ventilation, vibration damping up to 0.7g, IP54 protection).
We’ve reviewed Data Bulletin 0613DB1501 and Masterpact NT/NW Maintenance Guide (LVPED508016EN) but found no explicit guidance on upside-down installation. Any recommendations or experiences? Has Schneider provided specific guidelines for this?
