My wife and I have purchased a Conext SW4048. The express purpose of the purchase was to supply power to our 50 Amp cord (120/240) on our RV. Our connection on the RV states: THIS CONNECTION IS FOR 208Y/120-VOLT AC, 3 POLE, 4 WIRE, 60HZ, 50 AMPERE SUPPLY. DO NOT EXCEED CIRCUIT RATING. EXCEEDING THE CIRCUIT RATING MAY CAUSE A FIRE AND RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
I am being told that I cannot use this inverter to power our 50 Amp RV Service because it is too small and does not have the correct 120/240 output required to supply power. Is this correct? Does anyone else have their SW4048 dedicated for supplying power to their off grid RV? Thank you for any replies.

Who is telling you this?

The SW4048 is too small to provide the full 50A but the output as split phase 240V would be what a typical 240V/60Hz system would require.
Can you confirm what inverter/ your RV has? And confirm that your RV expects 240V/60Hz split phase input?
In regards to the output power of the 4048, it will work as you appear to be asking but only up to 3800W continuous (see surge ratings for more momentary ratings). See attached, from the latest tech document, only 4 years old.
You should ask this on one of the internet solar forums. You will get better answers.

It was on a DIY Solar Forum that the discussion came up. We were speaking to how large of a system each of us were installing for off grid purposes. The other half of the conversation led me to the knowledge that this unit is unable to be paralleled to double output. When we purchased this unit pre-wired from altE and had it shipped we specifically asked if it could be paralleled for future expansion. I am about to change the direction of our power with AIO, parallel-able units if we need to increase the amount of available power for future use. Thank you for responding. There is a great deal of development in the field of solar generation in the past four years - truly, plug and play. I trusted the experts and feel as though we were led astray in our thought process. It happens and I learned a valuable lesson.
