Active alarms in IT Expert

The Active alarms tab in the Alarms view provides an overview of alarms that are currently occurring in your organization.

An IT Expert subscription is required.

Select a location to view the active alarms for that location, All locations by default.

Alarm insights

Widgets show Sublocations with the most alarms, Alarms by category, and the Average number of alarms per device.

Click the arrow to hide or show alarm insights.

Group alarms

Use grouping options to see alarms from different perspectives. 

You can group alarms by Device or by Location. Location options are:

• Exact location, for example, Rack 3
• Group
• Site
• Building
• Room
• Row
• Rack

You can then sort the group by location or device Name, Alarm count, location or device Type, or Latest activated alarm, and select to view the list in ascending or descending order.

When you select Group by > Device, you can Compare sensors:

1. Click Action > Compare sensors.
2. Select the sensors you want to compare.
3. Click Compare.

   

4. On the Compare sensors page, select the sensors you want to plot from the list for each device and click Plot sensors.

Configure columns

Select the columns you want to display in the table or restore the default.

Configure auto refresh interval

Choose how often to refresh the Active alarms page: 1, 5, 10, or 20 minutes or Off (never).

Click refresh    to manually refresh the page.

Click expand     to show only the table; click collapse     to show all.

Filters

Select a filter to futher narrow the list. Three filters are available by default: 

• Severity
• Device type
• Category

Click More... to add additional filters:

• Device model
• Device Manufacturer
• Gateway
• Acknowledgement: Filter acknowledged alarms by whether they have been Assigned or Unassigned.

When you sort the list by device or location, click an item in the list to see a list of alarms for that selection. 

Click the alarm Name to see details for each alarm.

Click the Device name to see device details.

Click the Location to see active alarms for that location.
