How to replace a damaged client PC " Hard Disk got crashed " Citect studio 2016

Hello,

I lost the central unit of a client's PC and I believe some Friends here might have had the experience before now. I will be grateful for your assistance.

I would like to know the steps to follow to replace it with the appropriate configuration to connect it with the Citect Studio 2016 structure.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @khalidbaichou,

These are the steps I would follow:

1. Delete or Remove the disconnected node (OP1) from the Deployment > Machines view. This will remove this old machine from the Deployment Server database.

2. Setup a new node (can be OP1 or any other valid machine name).

3. Install Plant SCADA and any patches to match the current system.

4. Run configurator and register with SMS again.

5. Then configure Deployment Client and register with the Deployment Server.

6. Deploy project to the new node (OP1)

7. If you aren't using Profile feature (looks like you are not from the screenshot) Run the computer setup wizard to adjust any settings as required or just edit the citect.ini on this node. Maybe check the citect.ini on OP2 to see if any special settings are required.

8. You should be safe to startup Runtime on this node and test if it is able to get data again.

Let me know how you go.

Kind regards

Olivier

Hi @khalidbaichou,

The help documentation is your friend and details the steps required. You can view the help within the product by pressing F1.

You can also access the help online from the GCS website (for your version), here is the topic relating to removing a Deployment Client:
https://gcsresource.aveva.com/plantscada/WebHelp/citect800/default.htm#Remove_a_Deployment_Client.ht...

Just in case you still have issues accessing either, here is the steps required:

Remove a Deployment Client

If a deployment client is no longer used by a deployment server, you can remove it from the Computers view.

To remove a deployment client:

  1. In the Deployment activity, select Computers.
  2. In the Computer list, select the deployment client you would like to remove.
  3. On the Command Bar, select Remove.
  4. On the Remove Computer dialog, click OK to confirm the removal.

Note: This process only removes the client from the Computers view. Any project versions that have been deployed to the client will still be available.

If you want to replace a removed deployment client, run the Configurator (on the deployment client) to configure the client again.

Thank you very much for your answer, I have a question how I could  node (OP1) from the Deployment  and add it again.

It would be preferable if you have a detailed document of the procedure, please. I would be very gratefu
