Citect 2016 ABCLX.Log file - where is it ??

Hello,

In trying to find bad tags from a CompactLogix PLC I have modified the Citect.ini file as recommended.

[ABCLX]
DebugCategory = TAG
DebugLevel = ERROR

However I cant seem to find the log file anywhere after I restart the runtime.

I would expect it to be here "C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\Citect SCADA 2016\Logs\Drivers"

Am I missing something? Thanks

Apparently this function has been removed from PlantScada since Citect 2016 version.

Makes it a lot harder to locate bad tags.

Hi @mp231,

I'm not sure why you think this "function" has been removed from Citect SCADA 2016? I think perhaps the default or old location where the logs used to appear is different?

As you have done, set the citect.ini parameters. Then check the syslog.<IOServerName>.dat file found in the Logs directory. Then open this file and look for messages similar to this:
[ERROR] [TAG ] [0x000012ec] [21/11/2023] [10:40:53.095] [FindTag()] Root tag not found : Valve3Open
[ERROR] [TAG ] [0x4650] [21/11/2023] [10:40:53.142] [FindTag()] Field not found : Pump1.speed

If you have any issues, let us know. It would also be helpful to know what version of the ABCLX driver you are using.

Also note that version 36 of the Control Logix firmware has introduced some incompatibility, but a HF driver is available to overcome this issue:
