CitectSCADA/AVEVA Plant SCADA Online printing

Hey Members,

“CitectSCADA/AVEVA Plant SCADA Online printing”:

I have VijeoCitect/CitectSCADA background and since version 7.4 and starting with Windows 8 and with new PCs without parallel ports (LPT1:), we start facing problems with online printing on Dot Matrix printers connected to USB ports.  

We have made a workaround procedure which consist on the following:

1. Share the EPSON dot-matrix  printer and map it to   LPT1: using dos command  “net use LPT<n>: \\<PrintServer>\<ShareName> /persistent:yes”
2. Configure the printer under Citect Devises using LPT1.dos as file name
3. Then write a Cicode to open alarm que and manage the printing

But this procedure is not stable, and not always working fine, the shared name of the dot matrix printer might by changed and set to default by Windows, etc…

Is there now in the new CitectSCADA/Plant SCADA a native solution to for online printing or still we need to go as per above procedure?
